Discover University didn’t bring too many changes, but there was a couple. This update should fix them.
I did notice some strange behaviour with the jj.progress_rut cheat, so if you encounter any issues with that, please let me know so I can investigate it. It all seemed to clear up in my game, but I’m not 100% convinced.

- Fixed to be compatible with patch 1.58.63.
- Implemented some additional checks in heats and ruts.
Non-Alpha/ non-Omega sims will no longer go into rut/ heat.

- Fixed some issues with ruts, which weren't decaying properly and causing issues.
- Reworked the heat system to more closely mirror the rut system.
This should now mean that "broken" Omegas are no longer an issue (long term testing is still ongoing).
An Omega's heat cycle will now pause when they are not being played. - Reduced Alpha athletic autonomy somewhat.

- Introduced Ruts for Alphas.
Every 8 - 10 days, alphas will go into rut.
Ruts last 36hrs, made up of 4 stages (Starting, During, Climax, Ending).
Young Adult, Adult, and Elder alphas will go into rut. - Introduced First Ruts.
Alphas go through a slightly different rut experience on their first rut.
Thanks to everyone who voted on the poll for this feature. - Introduced induced heats.
Omegas around an alpha in their Starting or Ending stage of rut have a 25% chance of going into heat every time they go near them.
Omegas around an alpha in their During or Climax stage of rut have a 70% chance of going into heat every time they go near them.
If an omega has been into heat in the past 2 days, this effect is negated. - Introduced induced ruts.
The time between an alpha's ruts is slightly reduced when around an omega in their Starting or Ending stage of heat, and significantly reduced around an omega in their During stage of heat. - Introduced several new cheats relating to ruts and heats.
jj.start_rut - Starts a rut for an alpha.
jj.first_rut - Skips an alpha's First Rut, meaning their first rut is normal.
jj.progress_rut - Advances a rut to its next stage (Starting to During, During to Climax, etc).
jj.progress_heat - Advances a heat to its next stage. - Introduced a cheat to reset Alpha and Omega rut/ heat cycles.
jj.fix - Removes the Set Up traits from an alpha/ omega, thereby resetting their rut/ heat, fixing potentially "broken" sims. (Please refer to the Notes below, relating to this new feature) - Fixed some scripting issues.
The jj.start_heat cheat has been fixed, so it shall work every time. - Fixed some heat control issues.
Checks have been introduced which ensure that only omegas will go into heat.
Thanks to pllsetskyonice for bringing this to my attention.
Notes
- The new jj.fix cheat is implemented to hopefully allow players whose omegas have lost their heat cycle controlling buffs. This seems to be a common problem, and I'm still investigating it.
- I believe it may be related to the rotational play style (where you change households on a regular basis). This would explain why I've not yet seen anything like it in my game (I play a single household).
- This cheat is an interim fix, whilst I look into a way to ensure that non-active omegas retain their heat cycles. I'll be looking into it.

Further Information
- The number of days until an alpha's next rut is randomised at the start of the rut cycle, but will fall between 8 - 10.
This is shortened by the amount of time an alpha spends around an omega in heat. - Teens cannot go into rut, since they have not yet "matured" enough.
Elders can go into rut, but I advise caution with them getting "too much action", as they may end up dying from overexertion (great way to go though). - Ruts are made up of 4 stages, each 9hrs long.
In the first three stages (Starting, During, Climax), the alpha will get progressively flirtier.
In the final stage (Ending), the alpha will become dazed from the after-effects of the rut.
This does not necessarily take into account the effect of omegas in the vicinity, nor First Ruts. These can lead to extra-flirty alphas. - As with heats, alphas in rut can only be affected by omegas who they are not related to.
- During an induced heat, there is a brief delay on the addition of the correct moodlets, taking a few RL seconds for the omega to update and get the right buffs. I believe this is as a consequence of the way I've set it up, but the issue rectifies itself after a few moments.
